Having a strong core is essential for efficient running. The result of core strength for runners is increased stabilisation within the torso. Your chest, lower back, abs, and obliques are your core muscles and that’s what keeps your torso upright while you run, and prevent “wobbling” when moving your arms & legs.
If you have a strong core, your pelvis, hips and lower back works together smoothly while running, resulting in less rocking and less excess energy expended. Remember, it’s not the legs that are the foundation of your run – it’s definitely your core.
On the flip side, having a weak core can cause your posture to worsen towards the end of your run, which opens vulnerable muscles up for potential injury.
This program will continue for 4 weeks, and each week we will focus on a different group of muscles within in the core. Although classes all have a specific focus, the exercises in each class will definitely work the entire core and body as well.

You can expect to work hard and build up a sweat, and at the end of the 4 weeks notice an improvement in your strength. Commit to these small chunks of time and start feeling results.

When you complete your signup on our website and click the “Complete signup on PayPal” button you will land on the PayPal page. On this page there should be a “Checkout as guest” option – click on this button and follow the steps check out with your credit card details. You will not need to create a PayPal account.
Note: the “Checkout as guest” wording on the PayPal page seems to be different depending on which country you are in, but this option should be available in most countries.
This program is available to Yoga for Runners HQ Live members. Join our membership and get access to this 4-week Core Strengthening Program and all our other previous programs and challenges, plus weekly live classes and their recordings.
You will receive an email every week for the next 4 weeks with that week’s classes, and after the 4 weeks end you will be able to revisit these classes as often as you like while you are a member.
